When it comes to summer hair, your top three concerns would have to be hair fall, frizz and the incessant need to keep your hair off your face. We got Adhuna Bhabani, hairstylist, founder and creative director, BBlunt to crack the code to beating them all.
How do I control hair fall?
Stay hydrated—consume water and fresh seasonal summer fruits and vegetables rich in protein. Indulge in regular hair massages—the circular motion will stimulate blood flow to your scalp. Embrace your natural hair texture by avoiding heated tools, and trim your tresses every six to eight weeks to avoid split ends.
How do I keep the hair off my face?
Try the halo braid. This bohemian look is easy to pull off. Divide the hair into two sections. Start making a French braid from the parting at the back, taking consequent sections all around the hairline up till the front hairline. End the braid with a three-section braid. Repeat the same on the other side. Once done, loosen both the braids a bit. Place the ends nicely on the other side of the parting and vice versa to form a complete halo of braids. Hide the parting at the back with pins. Intentionally let some loose, wispy bits fall on the face.
What do I do about summer frizz?
Extreme variations in the weather strip off the outermost layer of the hair strand cuticle, making it brittle, rough and prone to dryness and frizz. Your saviour: an anti-frizz leave-in cream. Nourish the strand by deep conditioning and limit the use of heat on hair.
