If there’s one trend that ruled the spring/summer 2016 runways, it was every shade of blue, in every technique you can imagine, on the eyes. From a stark cobalt kohl, a glittery ice blue on the brow bone to a blend of the colours of the sea and even on the lashes—make-up artists demonstrated how to use the watery hue in various ways.

Take the colour of the season and wear it like the models at Jonathan Saunders—completely outlining the rims with a dark cobalt kohl, or try a softer shade, like sky blue for a classic cat-eye at Jenny Packham.

At Diane Von Furstenberg, a smoky eye was created in aquamarine shades, while at Giambattista Valli, blue was taken to higher levels (just below the brow bone) in glittering wings.

Intensify your lashes keeping the rest of the eyes bare with a deep blue mascara, like the models at Mary Katrantzou.
