It’s clear that this 22-year-old British-Indian model isn’t one to shy away from make-up—she can pull off a vivid, three-shade metallic lid with as much ease as a high-shine pout. We take a closer look inside her make-up bag—full of tricks and picks for the perfect night of partying.
On getting ready in a rush…
“I set myself a five-minute timer. But my make-up routine is pretty natural. If I’m in a rush and need to do an evening look, I’ll keep the skin simple, add some mascara and do a bright lip—a trend I’m dying to try is the glitter lip.”
On her new party favourite…
“I love the L’Oréal Paris Infallible metallic eye paints. Make-up artist Val Garland used them on me—they look so cool and are very easy to use. It has a lip-gloss applicator so you don’t need to carry an eye brush.”
On her signature look…
“If I’m doing my make-up myself I stick to healthy glowy skin. First, I do a mini facial, then apply L’Oréal Paris True Match Foundation (I work it into my skin with my hands for a natural look, but if I want heavier coverage I will use a beauty blender). Next, I use a concealer, then lightly powder my T-zone and under my eyes. I’m obsessed with Anastasia Beverley Hills Illuminator in ‘So Hollywood’, and the bronzer from Tom Ford.”
On her beauty vibe…
“I’m quite versatile, so it depends on my mood. For an everyday look I prefer something natural—just a little coverage on the skin, highlight and mascara. But for events I love trying out different looks—smoky sexy glam, or a bold lip (depending on the hair and outfit).”
On makeup rules…
“I only use mascara on my top lashes. It gives a fresh wide-eyed look.”
On making makeup last…
“Urban Decay setting spray ensures make-up doesn’t move!”
On her party clutch essentials…
“I try and keep it as minimal as possible. My iPhone, Goyard card holder, keys and lipgloss—I love full glossy lips.”
On getting her skin ready before make-up…
“I always do a mini facial before applying my make-up! Make-up can only do so much, so I think taking care of your skin is so important. I make sure all excess make-up from the day before is removed by using L’Oréal Micellar Water. Then I use Sarah Chapman Morning Facial oil, and apply it in upward strokes to prevent wrinkles. I know I’m only 22 but I’m obsessed with taking care of my skin.”
On the secret to dancing all night in heels…
“Part of my job is being in heels all day, so I’m pretty used to soldiering it out, but one tip I would give is to check if the shoe actually fits. It’s better to get half a size up instead of your toes being scrunched up all night. Shooting all day puts a lot of pressure on my heels, so I get regular medical pedicures at Margaret Dabbs in Liberty.”
On meeting make-up emergencies…
“Once my eyelash started coming off but luckily, I had a black smoky eye so you couldn’t tell the difference. To combat this, I now use individual lashes instead of a full strip.”
On getting ready for bed…
“I remove my make-up by double cleansing and I always shower. I can’t go to bed without showering—I’m a germaphobe!”
On party hair…
“I keep my hair pretty simple because I have a lot of it and I’m not great at styling it. I use an oil to slick it into a high ponytail or a low bun. That way it stays in place all night.”
On her beauty speed dial…
“I feel lucky to be able to work with a variety of great talent in this industry. On set I love working with Val (Garland), she’s so creative and I always learn something new from her. For hair, I love Larry King. I get my hair cut at his salon and he is one of the nicest people in this industry too.”
On her glow secret…
“Facials at Sarah Chapman! She’s my skin saviour. I swear by her products too.”
On her fitness routine…
“I try and work out all year round to maintain a healthy lifestyle, because I don’t believe in extreme diets. I train at Kobox in Chelsea with Oliver Lee. He’s the best. I try and do two classes a week and one personal training session, focusing on intense rounds of boxing then exercises to keep me long and lean.”
On the perfect selfie…
“It’s all about the lighting. I try and take pictures at sunset when I’m in London because the lighting is the best at that time. It makes my skin look like it’s glowing.”
On her party perfume…
“Tom Ford Black Orchid—so sexy.”
On her party-prep playlist…
“My best friends just released two tapes, so I have that on repeat—7 Days and 7 Nights by Krept & Konan.”
