Summer’s nearly at the end of its insufferable term, and while the dark clouds don’t offer much apart from the much-needed respite from the heat, they do make the perfect setting for deep, dark, moody colours. The runway saw models in sultry shades of the darkest hues on the lips this season, and our favourite takeaway of the lot: an audacious plum.
At Huemn, the lips were sculpted, with a hint of shine as a finishing touch, matched with bronzed eyes and cheeks. Rimi Nayak went for a more mattefied effect. But if you want to keep the bold to the minimal yet go for a broody vibe, try Gaurang’s version of the plum, where a subtle stain of the colour was used on the lips, like you’ve bitten into a few lush berries.
